In autumn 2020 The Rocket Foundation sponsored the Powercoders Youth Camps pilot for youths of refugee or migrant background in Switzerland. 22 students between the ages of 8 and 18 were provided an introduction to coding, robotics and professionals in the IT industry. This pilot continues with project related coding training and follow on courses for those who are interested to explore further opportunities for them in this space.

Talent is equally distributed however opportunity is not. The Powercoders Youth Camps have not only sparked an interest in the industry providing the jobs of the future, but more importantly, they provide the possibility for that interest to become something more.

As this pilot comes to an end we continue to explore the possible next steps in this journey and look forward to the launch of more Youth Camps in the summer.
