Velafrica creates social enterprises across Africa selling repurposed bicycles collected in Switzerland. They create positive impact in Switzerland and in Africa through; – Collecting and repurposing old bikes which would otherwise go to waste,
– Employing and skilling refugees and unemployed in their Swiss bike workshops,
– Creating entrepreneurship through the establishment of sustainable businesses in Africa; and
– Providing an affordable means of transport in Africa which can transform lives.

Every year Velafrica transports 24,000 bicycles from Switzerland to Africa where they help to ease people’s lives; a single bicycle allows 3x more to be transported and 4x longer distances to be travelled!

The Rocket Foundation is proud to have worked with Velafrica as a coach, mentor and fundraiser since 2016 and we are always exploring ways that we can continue to support their growth.
